Memphis :: Atlanta "Beach Baby" Baby Shower Inspiration

I just recently returned back home from celebrating my one year wedding anniversary. I can not believe it's been a year. The time has really flown by and I can honestly say that I'm more in love with my husband/ VP of control control and official cake tester even more today.

We chose to celebrate our anniversary on the beaches of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It was absolutely beautiful!!! It was also very inspiring. I got to thinking how awesome a beach theme would be for a baby shower.

For this inspiration I went with very bright colors. This is perfect for a gender neutral shower. Most people go to pastel yellow and grey when wanting to keep things pretty even and not sway to a specific gender norm color palette. However, I say go with all the colors and the brighter the better! Plus it's really chic and fun ( and because a luau theme is so 1995)

Check out my latest Pinterest creation so find inspiration for this theme. And as always contact A Posh Party to make it happen for you!!!

Memphis :: Atlanta Kentucky Derby Inspired Baby Shower and Bridal Showers

Today is Derby Day!!!! I've never been to the Kentucky Derby but just love all the fabulosity that goes with it! If you have not noticed yet, A Posh Party's decor style is very refined, classy, and edited. I love the flash and glam, but with a very sophisticated taste. I also am a true G.R.I.T.S (girl raised in the south) and I feel like the Kentucky Derby represents all of that! The fashion and the sport are just over the top beautiful!

Secretly, a Kentucky Derby themed bridal or baby shower has always been my party theme crush! It's like my brass ring. It would be an absolute dream to decorate a Kentucky Derby themed baby shower or bridal shower! Southern ladies in big hats and white gloves would be everything!!!

If you are looking to host a baby or bridal shower with a Kentucky Derby theme, just know A Posh Party will be you BFF!! Do enjoy the inspiration on my Pinterest board that I've pulled together and let us know how we can make this theme happen for you!

Motivation Monday (a little late)

Feeling very positive today. In this party planning industry, I've found that some may not be as welcoming as others. I've also found that there are some greats folks who are very encouraging and will cheer you on. I've decided that I will be one of the positive people! My clients and their satisfaction has always been the most important thing to me. To see smiles is my number one goal!

I really don't have the time or bother to be in the mean girl clique. I want to succeed and want those around me to succeed too! I've learned a lot since I've been in business for over 5 years now and put in my dues. I've had some help along the way too. I'm willing to be a help to others too!

Memphis :: Atlanta Baby Shower: "Little Young Prince"

So I will forewarn you, that this blog post is very picture heavy. I think I will even do a part two just for the dessert buffet. This was one of my favorite baby showers to do and there were so many details and pretty pictures, I do not want to leave anything out.

I hope you enjoy!

Atlanta :: Memphis Baby and Bridal Showers Lilly Pulitzer Inspiration

Today the internet and stylish Southern girls were a buzz about the Lilly Pulitzer for Target launch. Every so often target will collaborate with a high end designer to carry a limited edition collection for considerably cheaper than what you would pay for the designer merchandise. Pretty much every collaboration has been a success and sold out in minutes. The Lilly for Target collection was no different. It was HUGELY successful!

I really didn't make any attempts to try to score any of the wears because I really can not do crowds and I don't take disappointment very well!

So in honor for all of us who didn't score any of the cute dresses, I say don't throw a pity party and throw a pretty party instead (see what I did there). Seriously, I really do LOVE Lilly Pulitzer and have been dreaming of all the pretty colors and florals that can be incorporated into a baby or bridal shower! I've gathered some of my favorite ideas into a Pinterest board just for the occasion. I hope you enjoy. Of course A Posh Party would totes love to make this type of party happen just for you and your guests. This would also make the perfect girls day out brunch or a bridesmaids luncheon.

Happy Easter

Atlanta :: Memphis Baby Showers: Jungle Safari

I was very fortunate to design and style my first baby shower in Atlanta, Georgia. I was even more honored that it was for my boss! I think that any time you celebrate you should do it big! The baby shower took place during our quarterly staff meeting. Since it was a meeting I can not do tall centerpieces and a whole lot of details which are signature for Posh. However, this was absolutely perfect for an office staff meeting. Creative but very mature and classy. Considering it was a meeting, we really did have a great time and I received so many compliments from my co-workers about how much fun they had!

Check out more pictures on our Pinterest and Facebook Pages. A Posh Party by Latasha would love to plan, style, or decorate your upcoming baby shower in Atlanta, GA, Memphis, TN or surrounding areas!

The BASH Conference Table Top Competition

Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the first ever BASH conference. The BASH conference is the first conference ever geared specifically to party planners, event stylists, and party bloggers.

In addition to attending the conference, I was also selected as a finalist for the table top competition. I competed against 24 other talented ladies. The contest was judged by Michelle Burt of Maddy Cakes Muse, Eddie Ross from HGTV, and Jenn Sbranti with Hostess with the Mostess. These folks are literally pioneers  of the party world. Jenn was one of the very first party blogs that I ever followed and her site has so much inspiration.

The contest theme was Hollywood and the required colors were black, white and gold. We were basically given creative freedom to interrupt the theme as we saw fit. Within minutes of knowing the theme, I knew exactly knew what I wanted to do. I've been saying for years when I have my very own baby shower, I want it to be a Hollywood theme. I have even decided that the Orpheum Theater or the Peabody Hotel in Memphis would be perfect locations. Now that we are in Atlanta, I think the Fox Theater would be great too!

So out of the vision, came my design. It was absolutely incredible. I loved every last detail and there are so many details! I could see this design incorporated into a baby shower "Diva Baby" or "A Star is Born". For a bridal or wedding shower, "Vintage Glam" or "Preparing for the Main Event".

The main centerpiece was a 6ft tall feature that was backlit with spot lights.

These gorgeous fashion spandex chair covers were perfect for the Hollywood glam look!

Each table setting had custom made vanity mirrors with sayings such as "stunning", "gorgeous", and of course "posh". I also gave out these diva fans!

The other favor was this beautiful crystal perfume bottle with custom tag.

The center feature was a show stopper, but the flowers by me were my favorite detail! I love orchids and the feathers just gave it an extra Hollywood glam kick!

I always love adding fresh florals to bridal and baby showers, so a Hollywood diva party would have them too! These are gold mercury votives with fresh white carnations and accompanying black tulle.

And that's me with table in the background!
